Eco-friendly and budget-friendly
- Book – check first if the person likes to read; I know many people who do not like to read. For them, I buy just small palm-sized books with quotes, recipes, etc.
- Journal or paper notebook – makes a good gift, but again, check if the person would actually use it; we do not want to waste paper, right 🙂
- Membership – buy your loved one a membership they would love, but they are still saving; i.e., museum or gallery memberships are great for this
- Potted plant – before you buy, think about the practicalities; for example, someone who travels a lot will not be able to look after it. Think about the type of plant ahead as well
- Small ceramic item – very popular and eco-friendly, also so many to choose from
- For the arty ones, get a small art piece from a local artist; this one gift will make two people happy!
- Frame a meaningful photo – they still work; we all have hundreds of digital pics, but nothing beats a good old 3D photo
- Hobby supplies – the crafty ones will love it; there is never enough supply, and most of us are always saving on them
- Good coffee or tea – get a good one; everyone appreciates a nice cuppa, but we all have been saving on beans lately 🙂
- Upcycled cloth/knitted toys or charms – there are many to choose from; they are sweet and small
If you do not have any money to spend, you can still create a handwritten note, showing your appreciation of the person you love or admire.
Did I forget anything? Do you have any tips?
Enjoy the gifting season, dear friends 🙂
